ケニアはビクトリア湖とインド洋の間、赤道直下に位置する国です。国の中央を大地溝帯が走り、標高5,199メートルのケニア山はアフリカで2番目に高い山です。首都ナイロビには、市街地のすぐ外に国立公園があります。
最もよく知られている保護区はマサイマラです。タンザニアのセレンゲティと接しており、ヌーの大移動の舞台を共有しています。アンボセリからは国境の向こうにキリマンジャロが望め、ツァボ・イーストとツァボ・ウエストは南東部の広大な地域を占めます。サンブルは乾燥した北部にあり、ナクル湖はサイとフラミンゴで知られています。
動物は一年中観察できます。大移動の群れは例年7月ごろにマサイマラに到着し、10月までとどまります。この時期の川渡りを目当てに最も多くの人が訪れます。サンブルには、グレビーシマウマやアミメキリンなど、南部ではあまり見られない動物がいます。
ケニアにはディアニからラムまで続く海岸がありますが、サファリの後にザンジバルへ向かう人も多くいます。ナイロビからザンジバルへは直行便があるため、マサイマラでのサファリとザンジバルのビーチでの1週間を簡単に組み合わせられます。

GAME_RESERVEマサイマラ国立保護区
ケニア南西部のマサイマラ国立保護区は、国内で最も有名な野生動物のエリアで、ヌーの大移動のケニア側の舞台です。初めてのサファリを楽しむ人、ご家族、広い草原の大型ネコ科動物を撮りたい写真愛好家に向いており、ケニアの定番サファリの行き先です。 サファリの1日は日の出から始まり、遅めの朝食に戻り、夕方にもう一度ドライブに出ます。ライオン、チーター、ヒョウはほぼ毎日見られ、ゾウ、キリン、シマウマの大きな群れも見られます。日の出の熱気球フライトを加える人もいます [ADD: balloon operator and price]。 正直な注意点は、大移動の季節の混雑です。群れはおおむね7月ごろに来て10月ごろに去り、川の渡河ポイントには多くの車が集まります。保護区の隣の私営コンサーバンシーは、車の数を制限し、ナイトドライブやウォーキングを認めていますが、費用は高くなります。旅行する月に合ったエリアを選んでください。 多くの方はナイロビからマラの滑走路まで飛び、1時間以内です。または、ほぼ1日かけて陸路で向かいます。マラのサファリは、ナイロビからザンジバルへ飛んで1週間ビーチで過ごす旅の前に合います（直行便で約1時間30分です）。
NATIONAL_PARKアンボセリ国立公園
ケニア南部のアンボセリ国立公園は、キリマンジャロを背にしたゾウで有名です。写真愛好家、ご家族、初めてのサファリで、定番の1枚と、平らで開けた土地での見やすい観察を求める人に向いています。 典型的な1日は早く始まります。雲が出る前は、キリマンジャロが澄んで見えることが多くあります。ドライブでは、乾いた平原と緑の湿地を回り、ゾウ、スイギュウ、カバ、多くの鳥が集まります。オブザベーション・ヒルからは公園の広い景色を眺められます。公園の周りにはマサイ族の集落があります。 注意点は、ほこりと雲です。乾季には地面がとてもほこりっぽくなり、キリマンジャロは昼に隠れてしまうことがよくあります。捕食動物もいますが、マラほど確実ではありません。アンボセリは2泊か3泊に向いています。 アンボセリはタンザニアとの国境にあるため、キリマンジャロ登山やタンザニアのサファリと組み合わせられ、ナイロビからのフライトでザンジバルへも続けられます（直行便で約1時間30分です）。
