Vanuit Uroa zijn het Jozani-bos en de mangroven van de Chwaka-baai gemakkelijk te bereiken. Zoals overal aan de oostkust trekt de zee bij eb ver terug, dus het zwembad doet ertoe en zwemmen in zee is het best bij vloed. In sommige maanden spoelt er zeewier aan.
