Nungwi sits at the northern tip of Zanzibar, and the tide there retreats minimally compared to the east coast, so you can swim in deep, clear water at any hour. That's four nights of swimming, Mnemba Atoll snorkelling and sunset dolphin cruises on a beach that consistently tops Zanzibar recommendations. Then a short flight west to mainland Tanzania and three days that are entirely different: open savannah, a private Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, lions on rocky outcrops and elephants at waterholes. The beach half and the safari half are genuinely complementary in a way that a single-destination trip isn't.
The Serengeti covers 30,000 square kilometres and the wildlife density reflects it. Two full game-drive days here gives you time to understand what you're seeing rather than tick species off a list. You're not sharing the vehicle with strangers: this is a private Land Cruiser for your party only, and your guide holds a professional wildlife certificate from the Tanzania Wildlife College. Day seven is the Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcanic caldera of 260 square kilometres where black rhino live alongside lions, elephants and dense concentrations of plains game. The Big Five in one day is realistic here in a way it isn't in most of the Serengeti.
The internal flights (Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro and back) are included in the package price. That detail separates this from cheaper packages that quote the beach cost and leave the flights as an extra. Safari accommodation is full board. Beach accommodation includes daily breakfast. Meals during all excursions are covered.
June to October is the best window for both the beach (dry and breezy, peak water clarity) and the safari (dry season, animals concentrate around water). January to February works well for calving season in the southern Serengeti. We can build the itinerary around whatever timing makes most sense for your dates.
